Telangana Per Capita Income Has Increased To Rs 3.17 Lakh: CM KCR

CM KCR stated that Telangana, at just 10 years old, surpasses many larger states in terms of per capita income.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday highlighted the remarkable progress the Telangana state has made since its formation on June 2, 2014. He mentioned that Telangana's per capita income has surged from Rs 1.24 lakh to Rs 3.17 lakh, while the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has risen from a little over Rs 5 lakh crore to Rs 13 lakh crore over the past nine years. Narrating Telangana’s achievements since its formation, the chief minister proudly stated that Telangana, at just ten years old, surpasses many larger states in terms of per capita income.

He said that the state's installed power generation capacity has significantly increased from 7,778 MW to 18,453 MW. Despite facing challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic and demonetization in 2016, Telangana has achieved a remarkable 115% growth in GSDP, the CM said.

To ensure all-around development, the government plans to distribute land titles for 4 lakh acres of 'Podu' land to 1.5 lakh tribals starting from June 24. Additionally, in the second phase of the 'Dalit Bandhu' scheme, 1.5 lakh Dalit families will receive Rs 10 lakh each to start their chosen businesses.

He expressed pride in Telangana's achievement of becoming the most formidable economic power in the country, despite facing ambiguities and obstacles along the way.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government has planned a wide range of activities and released a 21-day schedule to celebrate a decade of Telangana state formation, with various cultural events, flag-hoisting ceremonies, processions, and programmes that highlight the achievements and progress made by Telangana since its inception. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced that his government will celebrate the state's formation day on a grand scale starting June 2.
