Telangana Formation Day 2022: Celebrations In Delhi Too, CM Chandrashekhar Rao Greets People On Occasion
The aim of the programme is to highlight the culture, heritage and the architectural magnificence of the youngest state of the country celebrating its eight anniversary.
New Delhi: Telangana will celebrate it's eighth foundation day today. After years of protests and demand for a separate state, Telangana was carved out of erstwhile unified Andhra Pradesh on June 2, 2014. On Wednesday, the eve of Telangana's Formation Day, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao extended greetings to the people
"Formation of a new state has been possible due to the sacrifices made by people for this state, and it was built with the same spirit. Telangana continued to progress and stood as a role model for the country," said the CM, as reported by news agency ANI.
The celebrations to mark Telangana's statehood will not only be held in the state alone but in the national capital too.
The Ministry of Culture will organise Telangana Formation Day in Delhi today and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest of the function.
Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and DoNER G Kishan Reddy and Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakashi Lekhi will be the other dignitaries to take part in the event to be held at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, said the ministry, as reported by news agency PTI.

The event will be marked by performances of singers from Telangana and school children from Haryana which is a paired state under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, reported PTI. Folk dancers from Delhi and Telangana will also participate and showcase the rich cultural heritage of the state.
“As this year marks the 75th year of Independence, the government is celebrating and commemorating India’s glorious history, its people, culture and achievements,” said the ministry in the a statement, as reported by PTI.
It is for the first time that the Centre is organising an event to mark Telangana Formation Day in the national capital, which is scheduled to be held in the evening.
