Telangana Congress Chief Accuses KCR Of Running 30 Percent Commission Government

Revanth Reddy labelled the BRS government a "30 percent commission government" and accused KCR of looting Rs 15,000 crores through tenders.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President Revanth Reddy has accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and Telangana Minister K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) of running a government that takes a 30 percent commission on tenders. During a media address at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Revanth Reddy challenged KTR to specify which Rythu Vedika (agricultural meeting) he would attend, promising to join him there for a debate on 24-hour electricity supply with evidence.

Revanth Reddy alleged that tenders for projects such as the KTPS, Yadadri, and Bhadradri thermal power projects, worth Rs 45,730 crores, had a 30 percent commission taken by KCR. He labelled the BRS government a "30 percent commission government" and accused KCR of looting Rs 15,000 crores through tenders.

"The Congress party has provided electricity to 1 lakh and 5 thousand villages in the country. Corruption is being done under the pretext of solving the power deficit in Telangana through the construction of thermal power projects," he added.

Revanth Reddy claimed that the government was using free electricity as a means of corruption. He criticised KCR for focusing on the construction of thermal power plants and disregarding the central government's promise to provide electricity at a lower cost. He said that Congress increased the power generation capacity beyond the requirement by encouraging the public and private sectors in the country.

Revanth Reddy also accused KCR of corruption in the construction of thermal plants, stating that the civil works for these projects were being allocated to KCR's followers, while the electrical work was assigned to BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited). He demanded transparency regarding the costs of projects and the companies involved in the work delegated by BHEL.

The TPCC president also instructed party workers to stage counter protests at Rythu Vedikas against the protests organised by the BRS until 24 hours electricity is provided.

He also reacted strongly to KTR’s comments against AICC leader Rahul Gandhi. KTR’s comments that Rahul Gandhi does not know about agriculture except clubs and pubs were unwarranted. The TPCC leader called on the Congress party workers to stop KTR wherever he visited and question him on his comments on Rahul.
