Revanth Reddy Meets Governor Amid Cabinet Expansion Buzz, Will Likely Fly To Delhi For Final Decision

Currently, six ministerial positions remain vacant in Revanth Reddy cabinet and this expansion is aimed at filing those spots and optimize governance.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is gearing up for a significant cabinet expansion, expected to take place later this week. After meeting with Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Monday, the CM is set to visit Delhi on Wednesday to consult with the top leadership of the Congress party.

The proposed cabinet reshuffle is anticipated to bring changes in portfolios and the inclusion of new faces. Currently, six ministerial positions remain vacant in the Revanth Reddy cabinet, and this expansion aims to fill those spots and optimize governance.

Telangana's Health Minister, Damodar Raja Narasimha, hinted at the impending changes during an informal interaction with the media in Hyderabad on Monday. He revealed that Dansari Anasuya, popularly known as Seethakka, who currently oversees the Panchayat Raj & Rural Development as well as Women & Child Welfare portfolios, is likely to be appointed as the Home Minister, according to a report on The New Indian Express.

Moreover, Raja Narasimha indicated that Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy would be inducted into the cabinet despite his elder brother, Komatireddy Venkatareddy, already serving as a minister, as per the report.

The Telangana legislative assembly is expected to be convened after the union budget session this month.

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy's discussions with Governor Radhakrishnan also reportedly focused on the upcoming cabinet changes and the overall governance strategy.

The cabinet is due to represent leaders from Mudiraj and Muslim communities. There is also no representation for Adilabad, Nizamabad, Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts.

Earlier, Revanth Reddy asserted that only those leaders who won on Congress ticket would be inducted into the cabinet. The announcement comes as several BRS legislators joined the Congress party during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy's tenure as TPCC president is also set to come to an end on July 7.
