In response to criticism from Congress and TRS in the state of the viral video which shows Bandi Sanjay fetching Amit Shah's shoes, the state BJP chief on Monday defended his act by saying, "nothing wrong" with touching the feet of someone he considered "guru".
Bandi Sanjay further said that what he did was perfectly acceptable because it is customary in India to give footwear to elders as a sign of respect.
Sanjay said that many people consider Shah as their guru. I also consider him a guru. For many, even touching is a big sacred deal. It is not a question of self-respect but respecting the person.
