BJP activists condemned Bandi Sanjay's arrest. Sanjay, who was holding his 'Praja Sangram Padayatra', was forcefully arrested by police, said the BJP leaders

Hyderabad: Citing law & order issue, Telangana Police on Tuesday detained state BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar in Jangaon District. Sanjay Kumar was holding a protest in Jangaon District against the arrests of BJP workers in Hyderabad, said BJP leader NV Subhash.

BJP activists condemned Bandi Sanjay's arrest. Sanjay, who was holding his 'Praja Sangram Padayatra', was forcefully arrested by police, said the BJP leaders. He had rejoined the yatra after Amit Shah’s public meeting in poll-bound Munugode.

In response to the arrest of Bandi Sanjay Kumar, BJP leader NV Subhash said that Telangana BJP strongly condemns the illegal detention of  Bandi Sanjay Kumar by the Police, who are acting as agents of TRS. Subhash remarked, "I also blame the arrest of Dr Goutham Rao  and other BJP leaders for filing a bogus case when they organised a peaceful march."

"The recent actions of the Police on the BJP Praja Sangrama Padayatra taken up by Sanjay Kumar garu clearly show a threat to democracy in Telanagana. To protect democracy, everyone should denounce the TRS government's dictatorial and anti-democratic actions and policies," Subhash said.

Bandi Sanjay Kumar, on August 2, launched the third phase of his Praja Sangrama Yatra from Yadadri.

Bandi Sanjay Responds To Criticism Over Fetching Amit Shah's Shoes

In response to criticism from Congress and TRS in the state of the viral video which shows Bandi Sanjay fetching Amit Shah's shoes, the state BJP chief on Monday defended his act by saying, "nothing wrong" with touching the feet of someone he considered "guru".

Bandi Sanjay further said that what he did was perfectly acceptable because it is customary in India to give footwear to elders as a sign of respect.

Sanjay said that many people consider Shah as their guru. I also consider him a guru. For many, even touching is a big sacred deal. It is not a question of self-respect but respecting the person.
