Hyderabad Man Spends 3 Days With Dead Mother In Flat, Locals Alert Cops About Foul Smell
The locals suspect that the man killed his mother as according to them, there used to be frequent quarrels between the two, police said.
New Delhi: A 22-year-old man, who is said to be mentally unsound, spent three days with the body of his mother at their flat in an apartment building in Hyderabad, police said. According to the police, the body of the deceased woman was found in a decomposed state after the neighbours alerted them about a foul smell coming from the flat.
The incident took place under the limits of Malkajgiri police station in Medchal Malkajgiri district of Telangana and came to light on Saturday.
The locals suspect that the man killed his mother as according to them, there used to be frequent quarrels between the two, police said.
The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Vijaya. Her body has been sent for autopsy and her son has been detained for questioning, police further said.
A case of death under suspicious circumstances has been registered and investigation on the matter is underway, police added.
In a similar incident, a 40-year-old man was found with the fully decomposed body of his mother at their flat in Kolkata, West Bengal, a few months back.
According to reports, the man was found to be seriously ill and malnourished and was lying on his bed when the police found him. His mother, who had been paralysed for years, was found lying dead on the floor.
Police said that the man was earlier found to be living with the skeleton of his father. He had been living with the body for over three months after his father’s death.
