Hyderabad: ED Conducts Raids On Casino Dealers In Eight Locations
They were accused of using hawala channels to transfer prize money from gaming.
Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has carried out raids at the houses of casino dealers and agents in eight locations in Hyderabad. Officials are searching the houses of alleged casino organisers Chikkoti Praveen Kumar in Saifabad and Madhava Reddy in Bowenpally in Secunderabad. ED has registered a case under Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). It seems that a CBI case was registered against Chikkoti Praveen earlier.
At Kumar's second home in Andhra Pradesh, the ED has conducted raids. They were accused of using hawala channels to transfer prize money from gaming.
The agents Kumar and Reddy allegedly hired the customers from Hyderabad, Guntur and Vijayawada. They were transporting them to the All In casino in a hotel in Nepal via West Bengal on special flights. The event was held in a town close to Siliguri on the Indo-Nepal Border From June 10 to June 13. ED officials have found that Rs 3 lakhs have been collected from each customer for this.

However, ED officials found that Madhav Reddy and Praveen had taken some people to Sri Lanka and played casino games a few months ago. Sri Lanka is currently facing an economic crisis. Moreover, the ED investigation found that all the facilities have been arranged in Srilanka for those who play Casino. It seems that they have entered into an agreement with some Sri Lankan casino companies.
