Gravton Motors Builds First Ever 'Made In Telangana' Electric Bike With Swappable Batteries

New Delhi: Hyderabad-based Electric Vehicle (EV) maker Gravton Motors has developed the first ever completely ‘Made in Telangana’ EV with swappable batteries, under the brand Quanta.

According to Gravton Motors, the Quanta electric vehicle was founded on the idea that the EV can contribute to sustainable living if it comes at the convenience and ease of using fossil fuel driven vehicles.

“We designed and engineered our first electric two-wheeler Quanta on this one single principle that should be adopted by many to lower carbon footprint by introducing SES (Swap Ecosystem) into the design of the vehicle as well as business model,” as per Gravton Motors.

The Electric Vehicle makers further states that Quanta is conceptualized, designed and engineered in Hyderabad in Telangana for the Indian automobile market. The new two-wheeler was designed to be robust and such that it would attract a whole new crowd who would appreciate the practical design.

The company's electric bike also accomplished a non-stop ride covering a distance of 4,011km from Kanyakumari to Khardung La (Ladakh) in the shortest time, making their way to the Asia Book of Records, achieving the K2K feat that was till date possible only for petrol-driven vehicles.

The ride was kicked off on September 13 last year from Kanyakumari and concluded on September 20 in Khardung La, covering a distance of 4011.9km in 164 hours and 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, Gravton Motors is planning to set up a greenfield unit in Telangana with an investment of Rs 150 crore that will have the capacity to provide over 3,000 direct and indirect jobs across the southern state over the next two years.

The founder and CEO of Gravton Motors, Parshuram Paka said that they have been looking for a suitable location in and around the city for the new facility. “We will be investing Rs 150 crore towards this facility, which will be through a mix of internal and external funding. The new facility will have a capacity to make 3,00,000 units per year,” said the CEO as quoted in a report by Telangana Today. contribute to sustainable living provided it comes at the convenience or ease of using fossil-fuel powered vehicles.
