Fact Check: AI Images Of Rinku Singh & SRK’s Daughter Suhana Khan Shared To Allege Romance 

A Facebook user shared on January 23 purported pictures of Bollywood actor Suhana Khan with Indian cricketer Rinku Singh, claiming that they were in a 'UK hotel room'. 

The AI-generated images were called out by some social media users.

New Delhi: Multiple photos of Bollywood actor Suhana Khan with Indian cricketer Rinku Singh were recently shared on social media, with some users claiming it showed them in a hotel room in the United Kingdom, insinuating that they are in a relationship. In its investigation, the PTI Fact Check Desk found that the photos shared on social media were fake. AI-generated pictures were shared on social media as real with a false claim.

Claim

A Facebook user shared on January 23 purported pictures of Bollywood actor Suhana Khan with Indian cricketer Rinku Singh, claiming that they were in a UK hotel room. 

“Rinku Singh & Suhana Khan in UK Hotel Room,” the caption of the post read.

Investigation

The Desk ran the viral images through Google Lens and found that it was shared by several other users with similar claims. Two such posts can be seen here and here, and their archive versions can be found here and here respectively:

On further analysis of the posts, the Desk noticed several users commenting that the images were AI-generated. Below are screenshots of two such comments:

Taking a cue from this, the Desk examined the photos carefully and noticed several discrepancies, suggesting that it was AI-generated.

For instance, the background in the images was blurred. Also, a Grok (an AI-generative artificial intelligence chatbot) logo was visible at the bottom right corner of the photo, confirming that the image is AI-generated. Below is a photo highlighting the same:
Taking a cue from this, the Desk ran the images through Wasitai (an AI detection tool), which also suggested the substantial presence of AI content. Below is a screenshot of the result:

In the next part of the investigation, the Desk also ran the images through Hive Moderation, another AI detection website, which suggested substantial presence of AI content. Below are screenshots of the results:

Subsequently, the Desk concluded that the photos of Suhana Khan and Rinku Singh shared on social media were AI-generated.

CONCLUSION
