iPhone 15 Pro May Feature Ultra-Thin Bezels, USB-C

Apple is expected to launch its iPhone series this September, provided there are no production delays. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the Apple 15 Pro will come with big camera upgrades, ultra-thin bezels and USB-C instead of lightning charging. Apple is likely redesigning the iPhones internally so they are more repairable like last year's iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. This could mean that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models come with rear glass.

Redmi 12 Series Launched In India

Handset maker Xiaomi on Tuesday launched the much-anticipated Redmi 12 series in India. The Redmi 12 smartphone has been unveiled in a 4G and a 5G variant. The Redmi 12 4G variant features a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. The 5G variant of Redmi 12 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard memory. Both the variants of Redmi 12 come with 5,000mAh batteries with support for 18W wired fast charging and both the devices run on custom MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The Redmi 12 5G is the country's first smartphone to house the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC.

Japanese Chip Equipment Supplier To Set Up Centre In India

Disco, a Japanese chipmaking device supplier, is planning to open a centre in India to provide support for its clients and serve as a base for marketing to the country's rising semiconductor industry, reported Nikkei Asia. Disco's top executive Vice President Noboru Yoshinaga, as per the report, said the company will consider opening an applications laboratory in India to test silicon wafers cuts and other experimental processing at the customer's request.

OnePlus 12 Camera Details Leak: Periscope Lens, More

OnePlus 12 is said to be officially unveiled in the coming months and now, the camera specifications of the smartphone have been tipped online. According to famed tipster Digital Chat Station, the phone would feature a triple camera system at the back. The camera details of the OnePlus 12 were leaked on Weibo. The OnePlus 12's camera is likely to come with a periscope camera, which uses a prism to bend light, thus, allowing for optical zoom without increasing the size of the device. OnePlus 12's periscope lens may have a 64MP sensor with 3x optical zoom. The OnePlus 11, in comparison, only offers 2x optical zoom.

Puneet Chandok To Head Microsoft India, South Asia Ops

Microsoft on Tuesday announced Puneet Chandok’s appointment as the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft India and South Asia. Chandok will assume the operational responsibilities from Anant Maheshwari, effective September 1. Chandok will lead the India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka markets. Supported by a strong leadership team, he will oversee the integration of Microsoft’s businesses across South Asia, further boosting the company’s presence in the region, while deepening its focus on key industries through a customer-centric approach with generative artificial intelligence (AI) at its core.

'5G Network Live In Over 3L Sites Within 10 Months Of Launch'

Telecom operators have installed over 3 lakh 5G mobile sites within 10 months of the launch of the service, Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Tuesday. The 5G sites have been installed across 714 districts. "The world's fastest 5G rollout continues. Over 3 lakh 5G sites installed in 714 districts," Vaishnaw said on social media platform Koo.
