OnePlus Likely To Launch Watch 2 During MWC 2024 — Check Details

OnePlus Watch 2 is expected to get a huge upgrade than its predecessor. It is likely to run on Wear OS.

OnePlus' latest addition to the lineup of wearables, Watch 2, is rumoured to launch at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC 2024) in Barcelona. The said smartwatch has previously appeared in leaked renders as well and this time in the latest one, it is tipped to arrive with one major improvement over its predecessor i.e., Wear OS. The first smartwatch from OnePlus ran on a simpler operating system, but its successor is likely to run on a version of Wear OS which will bring more features and support for more advanced features.

As per a post from AllAboutSamsung's Max Jambor, the OnePlus Watch 2 will be launched at MWC 2024. We can expect the smartwatch to arrive by the end of February as the annual mobile-centric trade show is scheduled to begin on February 26 and will end on February 29.

If the claim made by Jambor is true then it explains why the brand did not tease any details of the wearable ahead of its OnePlus 12 global launch event. The launch event of the OnePlus 12 has been scheduled to take place on January 23, and three devices are expected to make their debut, namely — the flagship OnePlus 12, the OnePlus 12R, and the OnePlus Buds 3 TWS earphones.

OnePlus Watch 1 Price & Specs

OnePlus launched the first smartwatch back in April 2021. OnePlus Watch arrived in the markets back then with a price tag of Rs 14,999. The said model sported a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass on top and was 5ATM water resistant. It boasted an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

One downside that this watch had was that unlike other smartwatches from Oppo, Mobvoi, and Samsung that were released in the same year, this one did not run on Google's Wear OS.
