VP Venkaiah Naidu Takes Special Train From Tamil Nadu To Reach Andhra Pradesh

A special train with five coaches was assembled at Chennai Central station and was fumigated to ensure a safe journey. 

Chennai: Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu took a special train from Tirusulam railway station in Tamil Nadu to Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. The VP took a six hours journey on the train after a last-minute change of plans. 

The office of VP, taking to Twitter said, "Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu being welcomed by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, Minister for Endowments, Shri Vellampalli Srinivas and senior officials on his arrival at Gannavaram Railway Station on Monday."

According to a report on the Times of India, the railway authorities started to assemble a special five coaches train immediately after the Vice-President suddenly changed his plans.

The coaches were attached at Chennai Central station and the special train was fumigated to ensure a safe journey.

A senior official told TOI, the special salon car which was meant for the general manager of the southern railways with special facilities was used as one of the coaches in the special train. The salon car has two bedrooms, two attached washrooms and a hall. 

The VIP was also provided with the facility to get an outside view while the train was moving. 

There was also a separate coach for the support staff. 

The train that was supposed to leave Tirusulam railway station at 11.30 am got delayed due to fumigation work and started for Vijayawada around 1.15 pm.
