TN CM Stalin Gets Booster Vaccine Dose In Chennai, Urges Eligible Persons To Take Vaccine & Protect Country

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday took a prevention shot of the Covishield vaccine at Kauvery Hospital in Chennai. The DMK leader took the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in April and took the booster shot after a gap of nine months as per the norms.
After taking the vaccine shot, Stalin Tweeted, “I took the booster dose as a frontline warrior. All frontline workers and senior citizens over the age of 60 with comorbidities should take the booster dose.”
"Let’s protect ourselves with vaccine shield and also protect the country," he said.

In Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Stalin launched the vaccination drive in MRC Nagar on Monday. The state overall identified over 35 lakh eligible beneficiaries for the Precaution dose.
The drive to administer a precautionary third dose of vaccines started from Monday and the doses are provided to health and frontline workers, senior citizens with comorbidities as COVID-19 cases are spiking in the country. As of Monday, more than 10 lakh doses were administered till 8 PM of Day 1 as a walk-in vaccination drive.

As per the norms, the booster doses will be administered to the beneficiaries only after 9 months of getting the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine. All the eligible people should take the same vaccine as the first and second doses. However, there is no announcement yet on the booster dose for adults.
