Tamil Nadu: Three Kids Die Of Suspected Food Poisoning After Eating At Children's Home, 11 Hospitalised
On Wednesday, the children were served dinner and immediately after they consumed the food they started to suffer from vomiting and dizziness.
Chennai: Three children who consumed food at a children's home run by Sri Vivekananda Sevalayam in Tirupur died due to food poisoning on Wednesday.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, a home for destitute children is run by Sri Vivekananda Sevalayam in Tirupur. The home has 17 children.
On Wednesday, the children were served dinner and immediately after they consumed the food, 14 children started suffering from vomiting and dizziness. The children were rushed to a nearby hospital.
However, three children died without responding to treatment. The remaining 11 children are still receiving treatment from Tirupur Government Hospital.
The bodies of the three children have also been sent to Government Hospital for post-mortem.

The police who reached the spot have started their investigation. The deceased children were aged between 10-13 years.
The police said that the children were served spoilt food. The Food Safety authorities are also conducting a search of the premises.
Children Protection Unit is also conducting an inquiry into the matter.

Tirupur Collector S Vineeth who spoke to the media after visiting the children who are under treatment said that the children were served rasam rice on Wednesday. The food samples have been sent for testing and the excreta samples collected from the children have been sent to a laboratory for testing.
The reason for the death will be known only after the reports arrive, he said. "Based on the inquiry report, we will take future actions," said that Collector.
