Real Heroes Stand Tall In Crisis Period: PM Modi Praises Radhika Shastri & Her Dauntless Contribution For TN Hamlets

Shastri had ordered six 470-CC Bajaj Maximas which were customised to commute in the hilly region and each costs up to Rs 3.5 lakh

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made quite a few mentions in the 79th episode of his Mann Ki Baat program on Sunday. One among them is Radhika Shastri, who hails from Tamil Nadu's Nilgiris region. 

Only the real heroes have come out to extend their helping hand to the needy in these testing times. Did Radhika Shastri's contribution to society draw PM's attention? Precisely, Yes. But, what was the service she has been doing for society? 

In Tamil Nadu's Nilgiri, Radhika Shastri Ji has started Amburx Project, which aims at provinding easy transport facilities in hilly areas to patients for treatment. A fortnight ago, Radhika Shastri, a cafe owner at Coonoor, crowd-funded and raised money to get six emergency ambulance or autorickshaw ambulances for the patients in remote villages. The project was named 'AmbuRX' and it was inaugurated by the forest minister and the district collector. 

She had ordered six 470-CC Bajaj Maximas which were customised to commute in the hilly region and each costs up to Rs 3.5 lakh. Overall, it cost around Rs 21 lakh for Shastri to bring the six emergency ambulances to the Nilgiris.

Doctors in the hilly regions also agreed that AmbuRX can give good services in the Nilgiris and to the remote hamlets of the foothills of the mountain ranges.

Earlier, she had raised funds to build a 500-lpm oxygen generator unit at the Lawly Government Hospital in Coonoor. Heroes don't need to be special or have tremendous social media following, they can achieve tremendous feats with their good deeds.
