Tamil Nadu: Ex-CM Annadurai's Statue Desecrated, A Raja's Photo Tied To Neck In Villupuram
The police are currently investigating three persons including Kandagalam BJP union leader Prahalathan about the incident.
Chennai: A statue of former Chief Minister CN Annadurai was desecrated, garlanded with slippers and the face was covered with a DMK flag at Kandamangalam on Villupuram-Puducherry National Highway on Monday. A photo of DMK MP A Raja with black spots was also tied around the neck of the statue.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, the people of Kandamangalam who came out of their homes to resume their work on Monday saw the desecrated statue and informed the police.
The Kandamangalam police rushed to the spot and removed the garland with slippers. They also registered a case.

A police officer talking to The Hindu said, the incident is being probed from all angles. As there are no CCTV cameras due to the construction works in Villupuram-Nagapattinam stretch, the investigations are on.
However, he said, the police patrol has intensified to avoid untoward incidents.

DMK MP A Raja ran into controversy after his speech against Sanatana Dharma and Manusmriti. A Raja said, "You're a Shudra till you remain a Hindu. You're a son of a prostitute till you're a Shudra. You're a Panchaman (Dalit) till you remain a Hindu. You're an untouchable till you remain a Hindu."
His speech created a controversy after which DMK and Hindu groups started clashing with each other. The BJP and Hindu Munnani even called for protests across the state against A Raja for his speech.
