Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Inaugurates Chennai Literary Festival 2023

Chennai Literary Festival 2023: The festival which has been inaugurated on Friday will be conducted till January 8 at Anna Centenary Library.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated Chennai Literary festival at 10 am on Friday at Anna Centenary Library in Chennai. 

The Chennai Literary festival which has been inaugurated on Friday will be conducted till January 8 at Anna Centenary Library. The events will be simultaneously held in four halls, including creative, cultural, learning, and literary halls in the library. 

The Chennai literary festival will host interactions with renowned writers, activists and politicians. There will also be various events and competitions for children. There will also be stalls and performances by government school students. 

During the inauguration, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin said, “We have gathered for Tamil. We have gathered at the century building constructed in the name of Anna and it is the apt place in all ways for this function.” 

He said: “I am happy and proud to be inaugurating this event for the literary people not just because I am the CM but because of my identity as a Tamil. DMK government's rule is the rule of Tamil language. We cannot forget Kalaignar's role in getting classical status for Tamil, changing shri to Thiru, setting up Thiruvallur statue in the ocean, making Tamil as an official language, publishing 1,000 books in Tamil, students are given the opportunity to complete school and college education in Tamil, setting statue for Kannagi, Bharathiyar and Bharathidasan in Marina beach, all of these were done during DMK's rule.” 

The CM also listed the DMK’s contribution to Tamil in the past 1.5 years during his rule.

Meanwhile, the pre-event of the Chennai Literary Festival was launched by Ministers Udhayanidhi and Anbil Mahesh at Anna Adharash College for Women.   

According to the Chennai literary festival website, "CLF is a non-profit organization powered by like-minded passion driven personalities from diverse fields consisting of an elite team of academicians, social activities, professionals and businessmen."

"Our mission to hone and build the finer skills in the student community across various academic institutions in Chennai and Tamil Nadu," it said.
