TN Govt Vs Guv On Senthil Balaji HIGHLIGHTS: TN CM Stalin To Write A Reply To Governor, Says Minister Thennarasu

Background

The tussle between Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi and Tamil Nadu CM Stalin took another turn on Thursday after Governor sent a letter informing the CM about the dismissal of the Minister. However, within hours, Governor sent another letter informing that the order will be on hold until further communication. Governor RN Ravi said, "I have been advised by the Hon'ble Union Minister of Home Affairs that it would be prudent to seek the opinion of the Attorney General also."

He said, "I am approaching the Attorney General for his opinion. Meanwhile, the order of dismissal of the minister Thiru V.Senthil Balaji may be kept in abeyance until further communication from me."

On Friday, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin is currently holding a discussion with Law Minister S Regupathy, DMK Rajya Sabha MP and Senior advocate NR Elango and TN Advocate General R Shunmagasundhram and a few others at Tamil Nadu Secretariat. Tamil Nadu Advocate General R Shunmagasundhram reached State Secretariat.

The meeting is regarding the ongoing legal tussle between TN Governor RN Ravi and the state Govt. Yesterday Governor sacked Senthil Balaji from the cabinet and later after the outburst he said the decision to sack Senthil Balaji is 'abeyance' until further communications.

Earlier, DMK supporters stuck posters near Anna Arivalayam, DMK headquarters in Chennai, raising questions to Governor RN Ravi against Union Ministers who are still in the cabinet with several cases registered against them.

The Chennai sessions court has extended Senthil Balaji's judicial custody till July 12.

The ED arrested the Minister in the cash-for-jobs scam in state Transport Department in 2014-2015 during former CM Jayalalithaa's regime.
