Bharat Bandh: Tamil Nadu Farmers Escape Death By Whisker As Train They Tried To Stop Speeds Away

The 10-hour bharat bandh was held on Monday to mark the one year anniversary of farmers' protest in India by Samyukt Kishan Morcha against the three farm laws

Chennai: The farmers across Tamil Nadu participated in the Bharat Bandh organised against the three farm laws passed by the Union government by conducting road roko and closing the shops on Monday. However, one of the farmers groups in Tiruvannamalai trying to halt a train were at the verge of risk to life not due to the state forces but because the train refused to halt even as the farmers were protesting on the track.

According to a report on ABP Nadu, there were protests conducted across Tiruvannamalai district and one of the farmers groups decided to protest in Kalambur of Arani against the three farms laws on Monday. The Tamil Nadu Farmers Association along with All India Protesters Coordinators group started the protest under the leadership of Tamil Nadu Farmers Association District Secretary Narayanasamy at Kalambur Railway station.

The protestors got onto the track and tried to stop the train bound to Villupuram from Tirupati at Kalambur railway station by sitting on the track. However, the train coming at a rapid speed went out of control and could not be stop even after applying the brake. The farmers immediately got up and rushed to the railway platform after which the train stopped at a distance. The protest delayed the train by five minutes.

The 10-hour bharat bandh was held on Monday to mark the one year anniversary of farmers' protest in India by Samyukt Kishan Morcha against the three farm laws. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha is an organisation with over 40 farmers unions across the country to protest against the farm laws.
