Uniyal said that shops and other business establishments in the state will be able to remain open six days a week from 8 am to 9 pm. Earlier, the timings for shops were 8 am 7 pm. Water parks will also be able to be open at 50% capacity. Apart from this, the previously provided concessions will also continue during the curfew.

Uttarakhand Police ready to stop Kanwariyas

The Kanwar Yatra, which takes place every year in the month of Sawan, will not be held in Uttarakhand for the second consecutive year in view of the potential third wave of COVID-19. The Uttarakhand government has decided to postpone the Kanwar Yatra (which was to start from July 25) due to the pandemic.

The Uttarakhand Police is prepared to stop the Kanwariyas. The police have put in place a tight-knit system on the state borders. Instructions have been given to keep a close watch on the borders. If any Kanwariya comes to Uttarakhand, strict action will be taken against them.
