Chandauli: 2 Smugglers Arrested At The Railway Station, Gold Worth 2.5 Crores Recovered
2 smugglers have been arrested at the railway station in Chandauli. About 6 kg of gold has been recovered from the smugglers. The value of the recovered gold is more than 2.5 crores.
Chandauli. GRP and RPF in Chandauli of UP have succeeded in nabbing the smugglers. During the joint action, two smugglers have been arrested. About 6 kg of gold jewelry and ingots have been recovered from the smugglers. A case has been registered against both the smugglers under relevant sections. A team of the Customs Department is also interrogating the 2 smugglers.
During the regular inspection last night, GRP and RPF jawans saw 2 suspicious people on platform number 7/8. After questioning, they were checked. During the interrogation, the smuggler admitted to the crime, and 6 kg 64 grams of gold was recovered. During interrogation, the smuggler said that he was taking a consignment of gold from Calcutta to Delhi. While traveling in B-1 coach of Bhubaneshwar Rajdhani Express, he was trying to change the train at DDU Junction.
The value of the recovered goods is more than 2.5 crores
CO GRP said that 2 suspects were arrested at DDU station. The smugglers were going from Calcutta to Delhi's Karol Bagh with a consignment of gold. They have a factory in Delhi. The value of the recovered gold is around Rs 2 crore 60 lakh. He said that after registering a case against the accused under relevant sections, further action is being taken. The concerned departments have also been informed about this.
