Punjab Youth Congress Leaders Face Water Canons During Protest March To CM Mann's Residence
Police used water cannons to disperse Youth Congress protesters in Chandigarh, who were marching towards Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann's residence, citing the alleged deterioration of law and order under the AAP government.
In a demonstration against the alleged deterioration of law and order in Punjab, Youth Congress workers faced water cannons from the police on Sunday as they attempted to march towards the residence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the capital city of Chandigarh. The protesters, including several Youth Congress leaders, were met with resistance from police barricades near Punjab Congress Bhawan, as reported by news agency PTI.
As tensions escalated, the police employed a water cannon to disperse the crowd and prevent them from advancing towards the Chief Minister's residence. Besides the use of the water cannon, multiple Youth Congress leaders were also detained, according to police officials cited by PTI.
