Punjab Election 2022: Navjot Singh Sidhu's Wife Calls Him Hero, Targets Capt Amarinder Singh
Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the wife of state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, has called her husband a "hero", and has targeted former chief minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh.
New Delhi: Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the wife of state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, has called her husband a "hero", and has said that it does not matter who the Indian National Congress chooses as its chief ministerial face for the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab, news agency ANI reported.
"Navjot Singh Sidhu is a hero, he will remain a hero, it doesn't matter who will be the CM," an ANI report quoted Kaur Sidhu as saying.
She said that the only thing that matters is that whoever will be the Chief Minister, should listen to ministers, sign their files, and let them work, according to the report.
Kaur Sidhu also targeted former chief minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, who resigned from his position in September last year. This happened after months of a rift with Navjot Singh Sidhu.
She said that had Captain Amarinder Singh done the same, that is, listening to ministers, nobody would have had a problem with him. Quoting her, the report said that he should have worked and respected other ministers.
Captain Amarinder Singh had told the media that the Congress leadership had let him down. Taking a dig at Sidhu, Amarinder Singh had said that the former is not a stable man.
In July last year, Sidhu was made Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief by the Congress leadership to stem infighting in Punjab Congress. Polling for the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab will start on February 20. Votes will be counted on March 10.
