'People Climbed On Hills Next To Temples': Haryana Home Minister Says 'Big Game Plan' Behind Nuh Violence

Nuh Violence News: Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said that the violence in the district was pre-planned. He said that people claimed on hills near temples to fire bullets with 'proper planning'.

Nuh Violence: Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has said that there is 'big game plan' behind the violence that rocked Nuh district this week. He said that the entire incident could not have been possible without a 'proper plan', adding that people were climbing hills adjacent to temples with lathis in their hands. While talking to the media, Vij said that some people arranged weapons and this is all part of a plan. However, he said that no conclusion can be drawn at this point and a thorough probe is being done to ascertain the reasons and find culprits.

Notably, a video of Nuh's Nalhar Mahadev Mandir had gone viral showing rioters firing bullets from hillocks. Media reports mentioned that around 2,500 people were stuck inside the temple during the incident and were later rescued.

"There is a big game plan behind this. People climbed hills next to the temples, had lathis in their hands and gathered at entry points, all this is not possible without a proper plan. Bullets were fire, some people had arranged weapons as well. All this is part of a plan. We will not rush to an early conclusion without a thorough investigation being done. Internet services will be restored after the situation improves," the state Home Minister said.

Vij said that the way barricades were erected, stones and lathis were collected, all this was 'pre-planned'.

"It is a conspiracy. The way barricades were erected, stones and lathis were collected, police were stopped at entry points, and shots were fired, all this was done simultaneously, and it was pre-planned," he told PTI.

Speaking about the actions taken so far, Vij told the reporters that a total of 102 FIRs have been registered. 202 people have been arrested and 80 are in preventive detention.

"...We are getting information that firing incidents were pre-planned...stones were collected on the roofs and people went to the hills and opened fire. We are collecting information and taking action against the people responsible. We will run bulldozers as and when required. We will investigate if there was any prior input regarding the incident," he added.

On the claims of an intelligence failure, Vij said, "I was not shared any intelligence input on (Nuh violence). I had even asked ACS (Home) and DGP, they said they also don't have the information. Now, a video is going viral in which a CID inspector claimed that he knew everything in advance. If he knew, then who did he inform about this."

The minister further said that Chief Secretary and other officials were asked to make proper arrangements for Friday Namaz in the district. When asked about the transfer of Nuh Superintendent of Police Varun Singla. he said that the former was on leave and hence  IPS Narendra Bijarniya was given the responsibility to handle the situation. Notably, the Haryana government on Friday posted Singla as SP Bhiwani.
