Mulayam's son Akhilesh, daughter in-law Dimple Yadav and brother Shivpal Singh Yadav visited the hospital on Sunday. Some party workers, as well, arrived at the hospital premises to enquire about his condition, sources said, adding they have been advised not to visit the health facility.

"Respected netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) is admitted to the ICU. His condition is stable. It is a humble request to all of you not to come to the hospital. Information about his health will be given from time to time," the SP had written on its official Twitter handle on Sunday.

The 82-year-old former Uttar Pradesh chief minister has been receiving treatment while being hospitalised to the hospital for the past few days. According to sources, the former CM was moved to the ICU this morning and treatment is still ongoing.

According to sources, he was admitted to the hospital following a serious health condition, and his medical condition is currently critical. Dr. Sushila Kataria, an expert in Internal Medicine, is currently supervising him, reported India Today.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief and Mulayam's elder son to inquire about the health of his father, and party patriarch Mulayam Singh, as reported by news agency PTI.

PM Modi inquired about Mulayam Singh's health in a conversation with Akhilesh. He added that he is available to help in any way that is needed, ANI reported.
