60-Year-Old Man Stripped, Dragged Tied To Motorcycle In Jharkhand Over Suspicion Of 'Cow Smuggling'
The incident was reported from Amrora village in Jharkhand, when the man, identified as Surswati Ram was on his way to Banshidhar Nagar Untari with his cattle on Friday.
A 60-year-old man was allegedly stripped and dragged after being tied to a motorcycle in Jharkhand's Garhwa district on suspicion of cow smuggling.
The incident was reported from Amrora village in Jharkhand, which is around 275 km from Ranchi, when the man, identified as Surswati Ram was on his way to Banshidhar Nagar Untari with his cattle on Friday afternoon.
Banshidhar Nagar Untari sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Satyendra Narayan Singh said that an FIR has been lodged in the incident, a report in PTI said.

As per the FIR, three persons, identified as Rahul Dubey, Rajesh Dubey and Kashinath Bhuiyan, were on a motorcycle. The three persons intercepted the old man and accused him of being involved in cow smuggling, police said.
They stripped the old man and tied him to their motorcycle. "They dragged me to some distance and escaped after leaving me on the road," Ram stated in the FIR.
The old man was brought to Banshidhar Nagar Untari sub-divisional hospital for treatment.
Satyendra Narayan Singh said Kashinath Bhuiyan was arrested, while a search operation is on to nab the rest of the accused.
In a similar incident, a 25-year-old man from Assam’s Karbi Anglong district was allegedly murdered by a mob on suspicion of cattle smuggling.
The victim, identified as Jitu Das, was caught by a mob of poeople in Morigaon’s Kumoi village area over suspicion of cattle smuggling after which he was beaten with sticks. Superintendent of police of Morigaon district, Hemanta Kumar Das said that after receiving information about the incident, a team of police rushed to the spot, but the people involved in the attack had fled the scene.
“Our team found Jitu Das in an unconscious condition, and he was taken to a local government hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed during the treatment,” the SP said, according to Hindustan Times.
