Women Going For Puja Pelted With Stones In Haryana's Nuh, 8 Hurt. FIR Registered

The women got hurt after stones were allegedly hurled at them while they were going to perform a puja in Haryana's Nuh.

At least eight women were injured after some unidentified persons hurled stones at them allegedly from a Madarsa while they were going to perform puja on Thursday night, reported PTI citing police. A police officer said no complaint has been received as of now and the action will be taken as per the law. According to the report, police said the incident took place near a mosque around 8:20 pm when a group of women was on the way for a 'kuan (well) poojan'. When the women reached near the mosque, stones were allegedly pelted at them due to which some of them were injured, the police said, as quoted by PTI.

Nuh Police has registered a case in the matter under the SC/ST Act. According to the police, till now only information about three children has been received. The police are taking further legal action. According to the administration, the Muslim side has said that some children were playing on the roof of the madrasa, throwing slippers at each other and also throwing small stones at the same time when women were passing by near the place. They claimed some slippers and stones fell on the women as the children played.

Meanwhile, a Police force deployment has been made outside the madrasa while a probe is on. Police said the situation is under control.

Nuh SP Narender Singh Bijarniya said, "On the complaint of women, an FIR has been registered... From the Madarsa, footage had come where we could see three boys standing. On that basis, three boys have been identified. All three of them have been rounded up, and now they will be presented in court..."

"Eight women have registered the FIR, and they have minor injuries... We are interrogating all three boys to understand why this incident happened... All three children are minors... We will investigate all the allegations made by the women. The situation is in control, and leaders from both communities were called in the morning..." he added.

The SP added that all three boys are minor.

The incident comes months after six people, including two home guards and a cleric, died in communal clashes following clashes between the two communities when the Vishva Hindu Parishad's Braj Mandal Yatra was attacked by a mob on July 31.
