Chhattisgarh News: At least seven Naxalites were killed and three Jawans sustained injuries in an encounter in Narayanpur district.
Chhattisgarh News: Three jawans, who were injured during an encounter with the Naxalites in a forest near Gobel and Thulthuli villages in the Orchha area of Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur on Friday, have been airlifted and shifted to Raipur for better treatment. At least seven Naxalites were killed and three Jawans sustained injuries in an encounter in Narayanpur district.

According to news agency ANI, a joint operation of the DRG of district Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Jagdalpur, and the 45th Battalion ITBP force led to an encounter with the Naxalites in village Mungedi, Gobel area under East Bastar Division in district Narayanpur-Dantewada-Kondagaon interdistrict border area on June 7.

According to a senior police official, the gunfight occurred at around 3 pm in a forest near Gobel and Thulthuli villages in the Orchha area, where a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxalite operation, PTI reported. He further stated that after guns fell silent, the bodies of seven Naxalites in uniform and some weapons were recovered from the spot.

The identity of the slain Naxalites was yet to be ascertained, the official informed. With this incident, 125 Naxalites have been killed in separate encounters with security forces in the state so far this year.
