Bihar News: A shocking incident of medical negligence has occurred in Bihar's Musrigharari where a 28-year-old woman, identified as Babita Devi, reportedly lost her life after undergoing a sterilisation surgery at a private healthcare centre. According to reports, the surgery was performed by a junior staff member in the absence of a doctor.
The incident took place at the Anisha healthcare centre, located in a two-storey building in Musrigharari, Samastipur district, NDTV reported. Babita Devi's relatives stated that they had taken her to the centre for the procedure, only to be informed that no doctor was available. Subsequently, the compounder proceeded with the surgery.
"We brought her here around 9 am. They administered her saline water. Around 11 am, they started the procedure. About an hour later, they put her into an ambulance and rushed her to a hospital in Mohanpur," the woman's uncle informed, as quoted by NDTV's report.

Bihar News: Babita Devi Died During Surgery, Healthcare Centre's Staff Evading Police
Shockingly, when the family members tried to inquire about her condition, they discovered that Babita Devi had passed away. "She died right here. But they did not tell us and rushed to Mohanpur," her uncle added.
Following Babita Devi's demise, her relatives staged a protest at the Anisha healthcare centre, demanding justice. They alleged that none of the healthcare centres in Musrigharari town had a doctor, leaving junior staff to perform medical procedures, thereby jeopardising patients' lives, the report stated.
Local police station in-charge Faizul Ansari assured that an investigation into the matter is underway. As per the report, he stated, "We are investigating the matter, and action will be taken against those responsible."
