What Next For YSRCP After Rout? I.N.D.I.A Support For Jagan & MP's Meet With Amit Shah Spark Speculation

Amid speculations of Jagan shifting his allegiance to I.N.D.I.A bloc, YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, fueling speculation about the party's future alliances.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, remains undecided about its future political strategy following its defeat in the simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections of 2024. The party is also contemplating whether to continue its tacit support for the NDA or to align with the I.N.D.I.A bloc.

Recently, the I.N.D.I.A bloc, expect a few parties, expressed solidarity with Jagan Mohan Reddy during his protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The protest was in response to the alleged attacks and killings of YSRCP workers by the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh. He showcased videos and photos of the violence in what his party termed a 'photo exhibition'. Later, Jagan also expressed gratitude to the I.N.D.I.A bloc for their support, according to a report on The Hindustan Times.

However, amid speculations of Jagan shifting his allegiance, YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, fueling speculation about the party's future alliances.

Vijayasai Reddy V taking to X said, "Today, 1 August 2024, I met the Hon’ble Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji at his office in the Parliament Building. We discussed various issues related to public interest. Grateful to him that he took out time of his busy schedule and listened to me."

Meanwhile, Jagan who had maintained a cordial relationship with the BJP national leadership during his tenure as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2019 to 2024. However, the ties started developing a crack and reportedly made Jagan upset after the BJP allied with his rival N Chandrababu Naidu's TDP and Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party in the 2024 assembly elections.

This alliance has complicated the YSRCP's decision-making regarding future political alliances.
