India edged Afghanistan in a thrilling encounter at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Saturday to register their fourth win in the 2019 ICC World Cup. India could hold out a stiff challenge from their Asian opponents courtesy a brilliant hat-trick by their seamer Mohammad Shami who turned around the game in his team's favour in the final over of the match.
With Afghanistan in striking distance of India's 225-run target, Shami produced one of the most deadly spells in World Cup history to dismiss Mohammad Nabi, Aftab Alam and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman off consecutive deliveries in the final over.
