Jannik Sinner Ends Alcaraz Reign, Clinches Maiden Wimbledon Crown

Sinner’s triumph marks a historic milestone for Italian tennis — making him the first Italian man to win Wimbledon in the Open Era.

Jannik Sinner wins Wimbledon 2025 Final: In a thrilling display of grit and class at the iconic Centre Court, World No. 1 Jannik Sinner etched his name into tennis history by defeating defending champion and World no. 2 Carlos Alcaraz to clinch his first-ever Wimbledon title on Sunday.

Sinner’s triumph marks a historic milestone for Italian tennis — making him the first Italian man to win Wimbledon in the Open Era. The victory adds to his growing legacy, which already includes two Australian Open titles (2024, 2025) and the 2024 US Open.

The 23-year-old Italian rallied back after dropping the opening set to secure a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory in a pulsating final that lasted nearly three hours. With this win, Sinner not only claimed his fourth Grand Slam title but also ended Alcaraz’s dream of completing a Wimbledon hat-trick.

Sinner's impressive comback

Jannik Sinner mounted an impressive comeback after dropping the first set, breaking defending champion Carlos Alcaraz to take the second set and level the Wimbledon 2025 final at 1-1.

Alcaraz had trailed 2-4 in the opening set but showcased his trademark resilience. He clawed back with a powerful display to turn things around, winning four consecutive games to seal the first set 6-4.

However, Sinner responded brilliantly, showing great poise under pressure to claim the second set 6-4, bringing the match back on even terms.

After securing the second and then the third set, Sinner maintained his composure and rhythm to close out the fourth and final set — once again by a 6-4 scoreline — and capture the Wimbledon title.
