Who Is Yash Dayal? RCB Pacer Booked For Alleged Sexual Exploitation

RCB pacer Yash Dayal has been booked for alleged sexual exploitation. Here's a look at his rise in Indian cricket—and the serious allegations now casting a shadow over his career.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has been booked under serious charges of sexual exploitation, physical assault, mental harassment, and cheating. The complaint, filed by a woman from Ghaziabad, has led to the registration of an FIR under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), police officials confirmed on Tuesday.

Dayal, who also represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket, is accused of deceiving the woman with a false promise of marriage, while allegedly engaging in a long-term relationship that spanned five years. The complainant has claimed that Dayal introduced her to his family, who allegedly accepted her as a “daughter-in-law,” further strengthening her belief that the relationship was genuine and heading toward matrimony.

“The man emotionally, mentally, and physically exploited her by misleading her with the promise of marriage,” the FIR reads. “He introduced the complainant to his family and behaved like a husband, which made her trust him completely.”

According to the FIR, the complainant has accused Dayal of financial and emotional exploitation as well. She further alleges that when she confronted him about his intentions, he responded with physical violence and psychological abuse.

The woman claims she later discovered that Dayal was involved in similar relationships with other women. On June 14, she called the women’s helpline 181 but alleged that her plea was not acted upon at the local police station. She has since approached the Chief Minister’s Office, seeking justice and a prompt investigation.

She has submitted digital evidence including chat records, photos, video calls, and screenshots to support her claims.

Section 69 of the BNS pertains to sexual acts carried out under false pretenses such as fake marriage or job promises. The law classifies such actions as exploitative and fraudulent, carrying a possible prison sentence of up to ten years.

Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway, and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings.

Rise Of Yash Dayal In IPL

Yash Dayal, a left-arm pacer from Allahabad, had been viewed as a promising talent. He debuted in domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh in 2018 and entered the T20 circuit during the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

He gained national attention after being picked by Gujarat Titans in the 2022 IPL, where he took 9 wickets in 11 matches and played a key role in their title win. However, his career took a downturn in 2023 after conceding five consecutive sixes in a last-over thriller against Kolkata Knight Riders. Dayal’s appearances were limited thereafter.

He was acquired by RCB for the 2024 season but has not made a significant mark since.

As of now, neither Dayal nor RCB has issued an official statement regarding the allegations. The case has raised serious concerns within cricketing circles and among fans, with many calling for a transparent and thorough investigation.
