'We’ve Got Our Hopes Up Again': Lionel Messi’s 10-Year-Old Son Pens Heartfelt Note For Father Ahead Of FIFA World Cup final
This is a massive game for Messi and his family is there by his side in Qatar.
Prior to the high-voltage Argentina vs France FIFA World Cup final, Lionel Messi's eldest son Thiago Messi has shared an emotional message for his father who will make his last appearance in a World Cup game in this summit clash in Qatar. While the tournament saw participation of as many as 32 teams, it has all come down to these two sides and a face off between them to decide who will emerge as the champion.
Notably, history set to be made in any which way. While the Albiceleste have won the tournament twice before, France too have as many titles. It is important for Argentina to win it as it is likely to be the last time Messi walks on the World Cup Stage and this is the first tournament since the passing away of the legendary Argentine Diego Maradona.
Realising the importance of this game, Messi's family also want to be there for him. His wife Antonella even shared an image of Thiago’s notebook on Instagram stories in which the boy had noted the lyrics of a song titled “Muchachos, ahora nos volvimos a ilusionar” which roughly translates to "Guys, now we’ve got our hopes up again." Thiago dedicated the lyrics of this song to his father.
We know how to play France: Argentina coach
Meanwhile, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni has made his intentions clear by saying that they will play a brand of football which can hurt their rivals..
“We already decided the strategy and we will play in a way in which we think we can hurt our rivals the most and suffer the least," Scaloni said at the pre-match press conference.
“We have our gameplan, we know how to play them and now we just have to execute, and I hope we can play a similar game as we did against the Netherlands in the quarter-finals – but win the match without having to go through the pain of a penalty shoot-out,” he added.
