New Delhi: The greatest men cricketer Sachin Tendulkar faced the greatest women cricketer Ellyse Perry for an over during the innings break of the Bushfire Cricket Bash legends match at Junction Oval on Sunday. It was an over that lasted for five-odd minutes but it indeed was like the 'God' took every fan down the memory lane. While walking up to the pitch to bat, Tendulkar - who donned the Australian green and gold in the 'charity game' - said that he padded up for the first time in five and a half years and the 46-year-old ended up scoring a four off the first ball he faced. The Indian cricketing icon also faced a couple of deliveries from Annabel Sutherland, daughter of Cricket Australia chief executive James. On Saturday, Tendulkar had tweeted that he will come out to bat "against the advice of his doctor" as he is facing problem due to a shoulder injury. "Sounds great Ellyse. I would love to go out there and bat an over (much against the advice of my doctor due to my shoulder injury). Hope we can generate enough money for this cause, and to get me out there in the middle," Tendulkar tweeted in reply to Perry's challenge on Twitter. The 2019 Women's Cricketer of the Year Ellyse Perry tweeted a video in which she said: "Hey Sachin, it's awesome to have you out here in Australia supporting the Bushfire match." "I know you're coaching one of the teams but a few of us were sitting around last night chatting and we thought it would be absolutely amazing to see you potentially come out of retirement for one over in the innings break out here at Junction Oval," she added.
