Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portugal football team skipper, added yet another chapter to the history books of FIFA World Cups during the game against Spain on June 15. While the Spanish dugout and the supporters were almost sure of their first victory on the Russian soil, Ronaldo peeped in at the last moment and scored the third goal for his team and thus, got his hat-trick. His free-kick at the 88th minute completely changed the face of the game . The last shot off Ronaldo's boot not only drew the game 3-3 but also, made the Portugal captain, the first player to score a hat-trick against Spain in a FIFA World Cup match. Ronaldo became the show-stopper right at the beginning of the play. He beat Nacho on the left of the box with a step over, was tripped and converted the penalty himself in an emphatic style after four minutes. he then scored the next at the 44th minute of the game after a poor mistake from Spain goalkeeper, David de Gea which allowed Portugal captain to again put his team ahead of their rivals. While the men in whites were leading the game 3-2, Ronaldo made the most of the free kick and levelled the score with yet another phenomenal shot at the 88th minute of the match.
