Should Back Our Family When Times Are Tough: Kohli’s Sister Posts Heartfelt Note For Team India

ICC T20 World Cup: India scored 168/6 in 20 overs while England scored 170 runs reaching the target in 16 overs without any loss.

Indian cricket team on Thursday got knocked out of the ICC T20 World Cup after it lost against England in a one-sided semifinal match. While fans and players are grieving with the loss, there are supporters who are trying to boost the morale of the players. One of them is Bhawna Kohli, sister of former Indian captain Virat Kohli.  

Bhawna took to Instagram stories to share her message. She wrote, “You put your best out there, you emerged in your form like the phoenix. Supremely proud of you.”  She added, “We support the team in times like this even more because we should always back up our family when times are tough.”

Bollywood celebrities like Ajay Devgn, Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal also came out with their messages in support of team India.  

In a lengthy post Ajay Devgn said, “Cheering for you as you put your heart and soul into converting the dreams of an entire nation into reality has always been an amazing experience. Though your journey to the finals was cut short, we enjoyed every bit of it. I cannot imagine the pressure each of you guys experienced with the eyes of the nation watching you.Winning or losing is a part of the sport. Both results are inevitable. But we stand with you. Through thick and thin, ups and downs we are here to stand with the best Team in the world. Chin up guys! We will come back stronger and better than ever.” 

Arjun Rampal also took to Twitter to extend his support saying, “Been out played today, unfortunately we didn’t bring our best game to the semis, nothing to take away from #England they were the much better side today. Such is the game. Well played through the tournament #TeamIndia heartbreak today. Congratulations #TeamEngland #T20Iworldcup2022.” 

“England outplayed us and congratulations to them on a solid performance. The defeat must weigh heavy on our team's shoulders and it's in times like these, we got to lift them up. Team India, Yes it was a disappointing day out but the story doesn't end here.. this is but a chapter. We'll emerge it stronger. Keeps your chins up,” Farhan Akhtar wrote in an Instagram post.

India lost the semifinal against England by 10 wickets. Batting first on Adelaide Oval, India could not put up a tough battle with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma leaving for pavilion within 10 overs. Virat Kohli scored his fourth half century of the tournament while Hardik Pandya scored 63 off 33 balls to take India's score to 168. English openers Jos Butler and Alex Hales together made a partnership of 170 runs taking their team to the finals. 

England will face Pakistan in the final on Sunday, November 13.
