Sri Lanka great Jayawardene joins Lancashire

 

Photo: AFP London: Sri Lankan batting great Mahela Jayawardene will play for Lancashire in this year's T20 Blast competition, the English county announced on Monday. Jayawardene, 39, has played in T20 leagues around the world since retiring from international cricket in 2015 and has previously turned out in England for Sussex and Somerset. He will join up with Lancashire in July. Jayawardene has played in 149 Tests, scoring nearly 12,000 runs at an average of just below 50, and has amassed over 14,000 runs in white-ball cricket.
