Smriti Mandhana joins Brisbane Heat in WBBL

Melbourne: Indian top order batter Smriti Mandhana has been signed up by WBBL franchise Brisbane Heat. Smriti will be the second Indian women cricketer to play in Women Big Bash League. Mandhana will join Indian all rounder and vice captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who has committed to defending champions Syndey Thunder. “I am looking forward very much to working with the Australian girls in the Heat squad after playing against them last season, Hopefully I can perform well and help to encourage more girls to take up cricket from a young age, both here in India and in Australia.”, Smriti said. Smriti Mandhana demonstrated her fluent batting style when she scored her maiden ODI hundred against Southern Stars in Hobart during India’s tour of Australia
Smriti Mandhana made her International debut at the age of 16. The left handed batter announced herself to the international cricket with a fine knock of 51 on her test debut against England in 2014. Smriti has played 2 Tests, 20 ODI’s and as much T20 matches for India
