Shoaib Malik Can Continue Playing For Pakistan For Two More Years: Sania Mirza

Shoaib Malik has been playing for Pakistan for almost 20 years now. During his career, across all formats, Malik has played more than 400 international matches for Pakistan.

New Delhi: Indian tennis star Sania Mirza lauded her husband Shoaib Malik for his "excellent fitness and healthy lifestyle". Sania, who announced retirement from tennis at the end of the year 2022, has opined on Pakistan's experienced all-rounder Shoaib Malik's career.

Considering the fitness of her cricketer husband, Sania feels her husband Shoaib Malik can play for Pakistan for at least two more years. The veteran batter is currently playing for Peshawar Zalmi in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).

"Shoaib is exceptional and is so blessed. He really works hard on himself to stay at his best. He is a very good example of a healthy lifestyle. He can definitely in my opinion -- and I have said this to him -- that if you can mentally take the pressure, play for two more years," Mirza told Cricket Pakistan.

Malik has been playing for the Pakistan cricket team for almost 20 years now. During his career, across all formats, Malik has played more than 400 international matches for Pakistan. He was also included in the Pakistan squad that had made it to last year's T20 World Cup semifinals in Oman and UAE.

"We value and support each other but, in the end, we always go with our gut as we both are professional athletes. We are playing for many years. He has always been supportive and he told me that he's behind this decision," she added.
