PKL Season 7: Bengaluru Bulls edge Bengal Warriors 43-42 in thrilling encounter

The Bengaluru Bulls staged a terrific comeback to seal the nerve wrecking tie against the Bengal Warriors after trailing at one point in the game.

New Delhi: The Patna leg of the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League season got off to a sensational start on Saturday with two high octane encounters at the Patliputra Complex in Patna. In the second game of the day, defending champion Bengaluru edged past Bengal Warriors by inflicting a 43-42 win in a thrilling encounter. The Bulls staged a terrific comeback to seal the nerve wrecking tie after trailing at one point in the game. Maninder Singh got the Warriors off to a decent start, picking up two raid points in his first two raids and sending Mahender Singh and Pawan Sehrawat to the bench. Bengal were the dominant team in the first half, with the score line reading 14-4 in its favour at one stage. Bengal looked to be in a commanding position on account of a stellar performance by Maninder, ably assisted Mohammad Nabibakhsh. However, Pawan Sehrawat struck some superlative form to help Bengaluru inflict its first all-out of the evening, reducing the deficit from 10 points at a stage to just two. He also quickly moved to another super 10. He registered his 600th raid point in league history. Prapanjan silently persevered for the Warriors, registering a super 10 against his name. However, it wasn't enough to stop Sehrawat as he took his side to victory by one crucial point. Sehrawat also has the most points this season, with his tally now at 57.
