Vinesh Phogat Disqualified From Paris Olympics 2024
Notably, Vinesh had assured India of a medal in the Women's 50 kg freestyle wrestling in Paris Olympics 2024. However, she was disqualified after being found 100 grams overweight in the morning of her gold medal bout, forcing her to return home empty handed.
She landed in India a day after her plea to be demanded a joint-silver medal was dismissed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). However, she received a grand welcome at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi with a felicitation ceremony scheduled for her late on Saturday night at her native village in Balali.
