On July 24, International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that Nita Ambani has been unanimously re-elected as IOC member representing India during the 142nd session. She secured her re-election with 100 percent of the votes.

Nita Ambani first Indian woman to join International Olympic Committee 

Nita Ambani was first appointed to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016, becoming the first Indian woman to join this prestigious body. Since her appointment, she has made significant contributions to the IOC and has been a strong advocate for India's sporting ambitions and Olympic vision.

Notably, she facilitated the first IOC session in over 40 years in Mumbai in October 2023, an event that highlighted India's new, ambitious global presence.

Speaking after her re-election, Nita Ambani said she was "deeply honoured to be re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee."

"I would like to thank President Bach and all my colleagues in the IOC for their faith and trust in me. This re-election is not just a personal milestone but also a recognition of India's growing influence in the global sporting arena. I share this moment of joy and pride with every Indian and look forward to continuing our efforts to strengthen the Olympic Movement in India and around the world," she said.
