The much-awaited Paris Olympics 2024 kickstarted with a grand opening ceremony in Paris, the capital of France on Friday. For the first time, the opening ceremony was held outside a stadium, with athletes parading on boats along the Seine River. Over 6,500 athletes from 206 countries participated in this vibrant event.

The photos, though showcasing the same city, highlight significant differences in their visual presentation. The International Space Station captioned the images: "Paris, where the 2024 Olympics have just begun, shines in these nighttime images taken from the space station."

The undated photos led to confusion on social media. "Love the pics, not from tonight for sure," wrote one Instagram user.

"The opening ceremony is really the moment when you can't mess up. It's a successful gamble," communications specialist Philippe Moreau Chevrolet told AFP. "He (Macron) has very successfully carried out his communications operation for the country and for himself: it's a moment of coming together for the nation... and he hasn't had many in seven years in power."

Indian Shooters Fail To Qualify For Final

On Day 1 of Paris Olympics 2024, Indian shooters failed out on booking spot in the final. The duo of Ramita and Arjun finish 6th, two places behind the qualification spot, while Elavenil and Sandeep could only secure 12th position.
