McLaren's Lando Norris won his first-ever F1 race at the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, preventing Max Verstappen from yet another win in the season.
McLaren's Lando Norris won the first ever Formula One race of his career in a stunning victory that saw him beat World Champion Max Verstappen in the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday (May 6). While it was looking like yet another season which will be dominated by one man, Norris pretty much came out of nowhere to register a win that is sure to open the table up while also instilling the belief that Verstappen is far from being invincible.
Norris, who was competing in the 110th race for McLaren, got the better of Verstappen beating the Red Bull driver by over seven seconds. It was Ferrari's Charles Leclerc who finished third and completed the set of podium finishes. Despite Norris' win, Verstappen who had started the Miami GP 2024 on pole and has won four of the opening five races of the season, leads the world championship standings.
