Women's Premier League (WPL) franchise Gujarat Giants (GG) are finding it hard to crack the winning momentum even in the 2024 edition of the tournament. While the team had finished last in the inaugural season with 2 wins from their 8 matches and a net run rate of -2.220, the worst among the five participating teams, this year too as things stand Gujarat find themselevs at the bottom of the points table, having lost both their matches so far.

While Gujarat succumbed to a defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their campaign opener, they then faced a defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their next fixture. To make matters worse, the side did not even come close on both the occasions. Beth Mooney, Phoebe Litchfield and Ashleigh Gardner have to do the bulk of the scoring if Gujarat are to break the jinx in this tournament.

As far as UP Warriroz are concerned, while they did lose their match against RCB and then stumbled to another defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC), they finally managed to get off the mark on the points table with a convincing win over Mumbai Indians. Kiran Navgire is in fine nick but skipper Healy and Tahlia McGrath haven't had as vital contributions as they would have liked. Even though Warriorz head into this fixture with the confidence of a win behind them, GG, desperare for their first win, could prove to be a tough opponent as they would be want ther best game to the table at the M Chinnswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday (March 1).
