Suryakumar Yadav Shares Special Story About His Wife Devisha After Unbeaten Ton Vs GT In IPL 2023
After heroics with the bat, Mumbai’s star batter opened up about his knock and also shared a story about his wife Devisha.
India’s 360 batter Suryakumar Yadav has been in terrific form in the ongoing 2023 edition of the IPL. He starred with the bat for Mumbai Indians and helped them win the game over Gujarat Titans on Friday. Surya ended up scoring an unbeaten 103 off 49 deliveries and helped Mumbai take a huge step towards finalizing their spot in the playoffs. Gujarat’s Rashid Khan did mount a big fightback but in the end, could not sail his team’s boat.
After heroics with the bat, Mumbai’s star batter opened up about his knock and also shared a story about his wife Devisha.
"I felt good to see my family, most importantly to see Devisha seated there, she had missed my 3 international hundreds. She wasn't there to attend those games. Felt happy, now people won't be able to say that she came and that's why I couldn't score a century," Suryakumar said during a chat with his MI teammate Akash Madhwal.
Talking about the game, Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked Mumbai to bat first. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan gave a solid start to Mumbai but then wrist spinner Rashid Khan dismissed both batters in one over. Surya then came in and played a brilliant knock of 103 not out off 49 balls laced with 11 boundaries and six maximums and powered Mumbai to a massive total of 218 for 5 in 20 overs.
For Gujarat Titans, Rashid Khan concluded the game with figures of 4 for 30 in his four overs off quota. While chasing a huge total, Gujarat batters were clueless in front of the Mumbai bowlers and as a result, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. David Miller did play a decent knock of 41 runs, but he also departed. Rashid Khan again came to rescue his side by wreaking havoc with the bat as he smashed 79 off 32 balls with the help of three boundaries and ten maximums but then it was not enough and Gujarat lost the game as they ended on 191/8 in 20 overs.
