SRH vs KKR, IPL 2023 HIGHLIGHTS: Kolkata Stay Alive In Race To Playoffs, Beat Hyderabad By 5 Runs

Background

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be up against each other in an Indian Premier League (IPL) face off at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday (May 4). Both the teams find themselves in the latter half of the points table in the competition.

As things stand, both teams have 3 wins but while SRH have 3 wins from 8 matches, KKR have played a match extra. Having said that KKR have a better net run rate (NRR) of -0.147 compared to that of the Orange Army who have a NRR of -0.577.

Harry Brook scored a hundred against the same opposition in the reverse fixture when he came out to open the batting at the Eden Gardens but other than that both teams have struggled to arrive at a settled opening pair that gives then the perfect start.

KKR need to win every game for the rest of the season to get to 16 points which has historically been considered a safe place to keep one's qualification desitiny in one's own hands and SRH have the advantage of having a game in their hand plus playing in home conditions in this fixture.

Jason Roy is likely to return for the KKR which would be a big boost for the Knight Riders. For SRH, Abhishek Sharma did well at the top of the order and is expected to continue there at least for this match against KKR on May 4.

All in all, this looks set to be a great game of cricket between two closely matches sides.
