The CSK all-rounder once again starred for his team both with the bat and ball as he played a crucial cameo of 22 off 16, helping his team reach a decent total. In bowling, he scalped two wickets for just 18 runs in his 4 overs.
CSK skipper MS Dhoni also lauded Jadeja’s heroics and said, "If Jaddu gets conditions that help him. he's very difficult to hit. His bowling changed the game. Not to forget his partnership with Moeen”.
Talking about the clash, CSK defeated the Gujarat Titans by 15 runs and booked their place for IPL 2023 final. After being asked to bat first, Chennai posted a total of 172/7 with the help of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 60 off 44 and 40 off 34 from Devon Conway. To add to it, a few cameos from Ambati Rayudu (17 off 9), Ajinkya Rahane (17 off 10), and Ravindra Jadeja (22 off 16) made a difference and helped CSK reach a fighting score.
Another super bowling from Maheesh Theekshana (2/28), Deepak Chahar (2/29), and Matheesha Pathirana (2/39) restricted GT to just 157 and as a result, CSK won the game by 15 runs. However, bowlers of Gujarat Titans also bowled well as Mohammed Shami bagged 2/28, Mohit Sharma picked up 2/31, and spinners like Noor Ahmed (1/29), Rashid Khan (1/37), and Darshan Nalkande (1/44) ended the game with a wicket against their name. Hardik Pandya on the other end kept himself away from bowling after he suffered a back spasm in the match against Mumbai Indians.
