The reigning IPL champions will not be defending their crown, as they are dethroned and a new heir is all set to take the throne, and the candidates are:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru scripted history by doing the unthinkable, as they have qualified for IPL 2024 playoffs from bottom of the table. The Faf Du Plessis-led side were languishing a the foot of the table, until a resurgence period of theirs came and the side went in full throttle mode in the remainder of their fixtures.
